Unlike most pieces of art, handcrafted glass is meant to be used, not only admired.The following are our advice and recommendations to care for, preserve and maintain the quality of San Carlos Glass for generations to come.
The results of the first manufacturing experiences were not as positive as expected. On the one hand, the system used was not compatible with the raw material purchased and, on the other hand, the available energy did not respond to the demand of the high consumption required. To this must be added the economic difficulties that afflicted society as a result of the debts acquired.The formulas to obtain a glass of better quality, were improved and also it was possible to obtain superior raw materials that allowed a growth of the production that resulted in a remarkable increase of the sales.
The economic recession that affected Argentina in the decade of the 90s, also had an impact on the glass industry that had to face serious economic difficulties and lamentable consequences.Today, holding the spirit of the founders, new generations continue to defend this identity that is crowned when finally on June 5, 2013 Mundo Cristal Centro becomes the National Capital of Artisanal Glass.
Crystal Care
Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight and sudden changes in temperature may cause cracking.
Do not store food or beverages in glass containers for long periods of time.
Handle with care, avoid contact with hard and sharp objects that may scratch.
Always wash by hand with warm water (30ºC), use a soft sponge and neutral detergent. Product not suitable for dishwashers.
Drain and dry immediately with a soft cloth to prevent water stains.
Store in dry and ventilated places, always in a vertical position, avoiding contact with other articles.
Wrap with paper if not used for a long time.
Use wine or alcohol vinegar to remove stains.

Mundo Cristal completely realizes its production of artisan form using techniques brought by its Italian founders coming from Altare (Liguria).Perfection in all handcrafted pieces differs from those produced by a machine.No matter how experienced or talented the master craftsman, it is impossible to eliminate all small variations.These variations, however, give the craft glass its particular charm and make it so desired.Each slight variation or small difference is the mark of the craftsman, testimony that each piece is unique and unrepeatable.Small bubbles the size of the head of a pin are not considered defects or failures, since they occur during the casting of the materialsAnd do not affect the quality of the piece.Strings or streaks are visible only when light is reflected in a certain direction and can not be seen if the piece contains water or other liquid.These lines are the result of the density difference that occurs during the casting process.These particularities are the natural result of the artisanal manufacture of glass.
